DEPARTMENT: Engineering

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager 

 

ABOUT US:

We are a fast-paced food manufacturing business, specialising in producing ready meals for a wide range of customers. Operating from a large-scale factory environment, we are committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and delicious products. The successful candidate will predominantly support low care production areas but also support other area within training, ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.

 

ROLE OVERVIEW: 

  • Manage all aspects of administration within Engineering Department to ensure compliance and smooth day to day operation.  
  • The Engineering Department is responsible for ensuring all machinery, equipment and building systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably. The team plans and carries out planed preventive and corrective maintenance supporting the production by minimizing downtime and implementing continuous improvement ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Health and safety and relevant regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Full development of a Computerized Maintenance Management System using Shire and once completed fully administrate that system
  • Maintain the current paper system with PPMs and MWRs (Maintenance Work Requests)
  • Technical Audit support – supply of historical information
  • Check invoices – amounts correct, PO numbers correct, delivery notes signed
  • Engineering Management Team support
  • Arrange training for department and chase outstanding requirements
  • Provide Excel support to the wider business
  • Other ad hoc general administrative duties

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience within a similar or Administrative based role 
  • GCSE in Maths and English

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Effective communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Time management & organisational skills
  • Computer literate and conversant with all Microsoft office applications. 
  • Attention to detail
  • Use of initiative
